Gaining Weight With Raw Food

In general raw eaters talk about raw foods and how they possibly bring on fat loss. But, there are actually some men and women in an opposing situation. These people need/want to gain pounds however they would prefer to eat vegan foods and achieve healthy weight gain.

Below is a true story regarding my previously slim brother and how he was able to gain pounds eating mostly smoothies with greens. My brother is a 30-something, primarily raw vegan. He mostly consumes green smoothies out of perhaps laziness, but also for all of the reported health benefits that can be achieved.

Upon consuming mostly green smoothies for a couple of months he became inspired and energized to get back to weight lifting with a goal to perhaps achieve muscle pounds. He tried weight lifting before to try and put on muscle and boost his self esteem. This time around he decided to things much more seriously, so he advance paid for an annual membership in hopes to stay committed, and he also hired a fitness trainer.

After several weeks of the fitness instructor dogging him about his vegan diet and strongly suggesting that he consume heavy animal protein and sugary snacks that take a longer time to digest, in order to achieve the desired pounds, he got rid of his personal trainer and continued to workout by himself, and started hunting for a diet plan, to gain weight, that he was happy with.

He came across information about figs, a calorie dense healthy fruit that tasted great in smoothies, and for some raw fooders, considered the healthiest choice of all calorie rich foods. He soaked a package of figs in water in the refrigerator each evening (simpler to digest after being soaked) and during each day would include several in every green smoothie, and finally included the fig water in the final green smoothie of the day. He kept this up and began to gain some pounds! Although he was happy with the increased weight, he wanted to put on more weight, but by adding other foods than just figs.

He then looked into some healthy fatty fish (keep in mind, he isn’t 100% raw vegan, just mostly) and decided that good choices were sardines, as well as anchovies. He actually likes the taste of both types so he started eating a few cans each week, just eating them right from the can.

He also began including raw chemical free nut butters, like raw peanut butter or/and raw almond butter, to his green smoothies. He began to see more pounds being added from this additional dosage of calories. To get extra protein into his diet, he included either hemp hearts or bee pollen to the green smoothies.

As an additional nutrient boost, not for weight gain but for powerful minerals he often added a few pieces of dulse seaweed to the green smoothies.

There we have it. A few extra additions to green smoothies and possibly even some fatty fish included in the diet, he managed to put on weight in a exponentially healthier way than heading through the Burger King drive thru. Hopefully this method could work for you too if healthier weight gain is what you are looking to achieve.

This is just a portion of what can be achieved with living foods and smoothies. Read up on: Raw Food on my site: raw diet recipes.

The Appropriate Beer Glass For The Right Beer

A German beer as a rule sits in a tall glass that curves from broad mouth to narrow base. And that’s just the beginning. What quantity of different beer glass shapes are there? And what is the right glass to use? If a beer fan says the glass is of no difference and it’s OK to drink out of the bottle, there is a thing or two he has to learn.

It didn’t take an extended period of time after that for breweries to understand that they are able to put their names on the glasses and give them to bars that served their beers. The bar got glasses with no charge; the brewers got advertising.

But as in the wine sphere, some enthusiasts argue that you have to have the appropriate glass the glass as a method to regulating beer carbonation. Beer glass form is a function of the carbonation in the beer, the surface area on the bottom of the glass, and the surface finish of the glass itself.

Surface imperfections in the glass supply nucleation sites, something like place for bubble formation. Next, surface area combined with the height act together to provide the correct combination of geometry for each beer. Carbonation carries the beer’s aromas through the liquid and into the air as bubbles burst at the top.

A pilsner, with its high carbonation, requires a wide top and thin bottom of a tall funnel shape: Bubbles will squander fast at the top, releasing aroma. For a less carbonated beer you would wish a glass with a fairly large surface area on the bottom to enhance the release of carbon dioxide, and then a large surface area at the top to also enable the consumer to enjoy the scent.

An interesting study on bear glasses found that the thicker the glass, they found out, the worse the beer keeps its temperature; a thick, room-temperature glass has more thermal mass pushing heat into the cool beer. Laser etchings at the bottom of the glass kick up bubbles that carry aroma to the drinker. A large bulge near the top grasps aroma.

Contamporary beer glasses don’t fare well for scent when funneled through recent beer glass research. The wide mouths of shaker pints, the lack of aroma-capturing curves in pilsner glasses, and the thick glass of beer steins all hurt the beer more than help. So think about it when you buy beer

A surprising offer for the beer fans is to attempt using a wine glass. Wineglasses are made to assist you obtain the best out of your wine and will do the same for beer.

Information Regarding The Raw And Living Diet

In this piece, I talk about the type of food are consumed on the raw and living diet, some devices used by raw foodists and then I finish up with info regarding green and fruit smoothies.

Which Types Of Food Are Eaten On The Living Foods Diet?

A raw eater eats plenty of fresh, raw foods such as vegetables, fruits, dark green leafy vegetables, seeds and nuts, seed, nut and bean sprouts, seaweed like kelp and dulse, etc. Additionally, with a little processing and low temperature heating, more complex raw meals can be created.

Going the transitional stage from the standard American diet, a raw food eater might make meals that mimic the cooked recipes that they consumed before. Generally requiring more work than desired and more devices than necessary, plenty of raw foodists stop before they even begin. A less involved approach might be a necessity for some, plus they may quickly come to realize that simple dishes are all that is really needed. Still, most men and women are stuck on emotional consumption instead of simply eating for nutrition and energy, so a transition diet might be required for those folks.

What Types Of Equipment Is Utilized By Raw Fooders?

Depending on the level of prep and the type of dishes that are planned to be consumed on your chosen living food diet, a raw fooder might require some of the devices that follow… Food dehydrators are usually used to make more complex meals such as raw crackers and cakes. A food dehydrator is deigned to heat food slowly while still maintaining vital nutrients and enzymes. Also in a raw food kitchen you can find a spiralizer, a blender or a food processor.

What Are Green Smoothies?

Many people have several “raw” vegan meals without a thought about it. Most standard salads, except for the dressing, are raw. They consist of raw vegetables and greens. Also, some people whip up fruit smoothies on occasion. If yogurt hasn’t been mixed in, the smoothie is more than likely considered to be raw vegan.

So now, what are green smoothies? Green smoothies are just fruit smoothies but with greens mixed in. Once in awhile superfoods are included for additional nutrients, or calorie dense fruits like soaked figs may be included to gain pounds.

There are food mixing particulars in association with green smoothies, raw meals and any meal in general. It has been shown that eating fruits with raw or cooked vegetables results in digestion issues. It may cause nasty flatulence or even fermentation in the body which may lead to more serious concerns.

OK, then, why’s it OK to mix spinach and kale with fruits to make smoothies? Greens are simply dark green leafy veggies after all correct? Well… it has been proven that combining green leafy vegetables with fruit does not result in the same digestive issues as mixing vegetables with fruits. So, raw foodists have been classifying greens in their own category of foods separate from veggies.

Green smoothies aren’t only great tasting, they are very nutrient rich. That fact that they have been blended makes them more easily digestible and the minerals and vitamins are more easily assimilated by us. A person would need to consume far too many salads in their day, plus chew the greens way too much in order to get the recommended amount of greens in their diets and have them digest and assimilate properly. Fruit smoothies with greens are a handy resolution.

Which Country Drinks The Most Beer?

Some states of the world are renowned for their capabilities to make fine wines, while others are famous for their abilities at producing beer. What countries consume the most beer though?

Dwelling in the UK, I usually feel quite lucky that we have quite great supply of varied beers available to us. No other country is probably as famous for its pub culture.

The tradition of brewing also goes back a plenty of years here, as it does almost in all Europe. In years gone by, most huge scale brewing in what is currently Great Britain would have been carried out in this country’s abbeys.

In more modern times, the influx of continental lagers has changed the drinking habits of great number of people here. As the UK market has been swamped by popular worldwide brands there has been a lot of consolidation inside the brewery industry.

Fortunately, the resurgence in sales of true ales that we’ve seen in the past ten years has also seen a lot of new breweries taking the stage. A lot of us are now able to profit from the local brewery.

So has this helped Britain to top the charts in terms of beer drinking? If we look at the average number of litres of beer consumed by someone in this country within a year then we find that the figure stands at a hefty 95.6 litres. That’s the equivalent of 168 pints per year.

That can seem like a huge amount but taking into consideration the latest figures, which examine this year, the UK ranks just 5th in the list of the hugest beer consumers.

So what are the real heavyweights when it comes to consuming beer?

In fourth place is our near neighbour, the Republic of Ireland. With 106 litres per individual, it looks like that the Irish are still quite strong when it goes about drinking beer.

The third hugest consumers of beer are Austria (108.9 litres). That may come as a surprise to many, with neighbouring Germany being better known as beer keens.

Really, it’s German drinkers who are second with an average of 115.2 litres per individual. With their tasty German beer, strong brewing and drinking tradition, this might be as little puzzle.

But if Germany is in second place then who is top? Whose citizens buy beer and drink it most of all. We are, of course, talking about the Czech Republic. Average consumption sets at 164.1 litres. That’s the equivalent of a massive 288 pints per individual.

When it comes to consuming beer, it seems that nobody can compare with the Czechs but you’d better make your own research and learn if it is really so.
